Privacy Policy

This app is a tool for your own records. It is built so that what you capture never leaves your device.

  1. THE SHORT VERSION

• Your photos, signatures, tracking numbers, locations and notes stay on your device. They are not transmitted.

• There is no account and no sign-up. We do not know who you are.

• The app only sends something when you write a report or open the page with our apps.

• There are no ad networks, no tracking and no analysis of your behaviour.

  1. WHAT STAYS ON YOUR DEVICE

Everything you record is stored only in the app's protected area on your device:

• Photos, including the details printed into the image

• Signatures you collect

• Tracking numbers and scanned codes

• Drop-off location, a neighbour's name, comments

• Time and location coordinates of a delivery

• Your settings and overlay templates

• Daily reports you generate

This data is sent neither to us nor to third parties. It is not placed in your photo library either — only in the app container.

You decide how long it stays: in the settings you set a period of 30, 60, 90, 180 or 365 days, or switch automatic deletion off. If you delete the app, all data goes with it.

When you share a delivery or a daily report, you decide what goes along and where. From that moment the privacy policy of the service you chose applies.

  1. LOCATION

The app asks for access to your location when you take your first photo. It uses it to record the coordinates of a delivery and, if you want, to print them into the image.

You may refuse access. The app then keeps working, just without the location.

If you switch on "determine address automatically", the app passes the coordinates to your operating system's map service to turn them into an address. On Apple this is Apple Maps, on Android the Android geocoder. The provider's own privacy policy applies to that step. Without this setting, your location never leaves the device.

  1. CAMERA

The app needs the camera to take photos and read barcodes. Barcodes are decoded entirely on the device. No connection is made to the outside, not even while scanning.

  1. DEVICE IDENTIFIER

So that the reporting function and the page with our apps work without a sign-up, the app obtains an anonymous identifier from our server api.peppertools.de when it first starts.

The following is transmitted:

• the name of the app

• device model, operating system version and app version

• your language setting and store country

• a device number used only for recognition: on iOS an Apple-signed identifier of your App Store download together with a randomly generated number, on Android the Android ID together with a confirmation from Google that the request comes from the genuine app on a genuine device

In return we issue an access key for this device. Your name, your email address and your Apple or Google account are not part of it. We cannot identify you as a person from this data.

The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a reporting function that cannot be abused (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

The key remains stored until you delete the app.

  1. BUG REPORTS AND FEATURE REQUESTS

If you write to us through "Bug reports & feature requests", we transmit to our server:

• your message and any later replies from you

• the type of report and the language you chose

• app version, operating system version and device model

• the access key from section 6

We need the technical details to make sense of a fault. Please do not put personal data into the text — neither your own nor that of recipients.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. We delete reports no later than 24 months after they are closed. You can withdraw an unanswered report at any time inside the app.

  1. OUR APPS

When you open "Our apps" in the menu, the app loads a page we maintain that points to our other programs. The request carries no identifier and no sign-in. It creates the usual server logs with IP address and timestamp, which we delete after seven days.

In normal operation the app requests this page at most once every 24 hours and otherwise shows the stored version. There is no measurement of impressions or clicks and no sharing with ad networks.

  1. NO ANALYTICS, NO ADVERTISING

The app contains no advertising SDKs, no analytics services and no tracking libraries. We do not measure which functions you use. There is no profiling and no automated decision-making.

  1. WHO PROCESSES THE DATA

Our servers are located in Germany at Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestraße 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen. A data processing agreement is in place with Hetzner. No transfer to countries outside the EU takes place.

On Android, the check that a request comes from the genuine app runs through Google Play Integrity. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

  1. YOUR RIGHTS

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure and restriction of processing, the right to data portability and the right to object to processing (Art. 15 to 21 GDPR).

Write to info@peppertools.de. Because we do not know who you are, we need a pointer to which report you mean so that we can find it.

You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is the State Commissioner for Data Protection of Lower Saxony, Prinzenstraße 5, 30159 Hannover, Germany.

  1. CHANGES

If the app's features change, we update this policy. The version in force is always shown in the app under More → Information → Privacy.
